Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 from February 27, 2010 to Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet community which is situated in the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. People unfamiliar with the term frequently think that it's a separate island somewhere west of Montreal although in actual fact, the West Island is home to everything from the town of Lachine west. Many times, it is credited as the birthplace of Amanda Brugel but while that is true, her stay in the city was brief. Brugel was raised in Courtice close to Oshawa in Ontario. She had a dream to become an elite dancer, however due to a rapid increase in her height, she surpassed all of her dance friends. She admitted in an article published by the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall, even when she wears heels. When I grew out of male companions, I stopped. For Brugel, it was her encouragement from one of her drama teachers from high-school that led her to begin acting. It was suggested that she audition for a part in her school's production. The teacher who suggested that she go after a role in the annual school production. It was the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she took classes in theatre and was awarded the Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in 2000. Through the years since, Brugel has been offered roles in over 60 shows on the small and big screens attracting the most attention after she landed the role of Rita in the award-winning television series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the only Canadian part of the cast for the season 1 of the series and not seen much.
