Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar was the American and British sitar artist. She is also the first and youngest woman to receive a British House of Commons Award. Anoushka is a rising star in Indian sitar. She is Ravi Shankar's pupil as well as his daughter of Ravi Shankar. Her birthplace was London in 1982. During during her early years, she swam between London New Delhi. She gave her debut performance at New Delhi at the tender 13 years old. In Encinitas California in 1999, she was awarded the high-school degree. While she's still young, Anouskha is a star in her performing and recording record. She performs regularly alongside her father and has done so for many years. She released her first self-titled album Anourag in 1998. It was followed by Live at Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album two years after. She has performed at most famous venues throughout the world. Anoushka Shakar's work is not only limited to music. Bapi The love of my life is an illustrated biography she wrote in 2002. It is a tribute to her late father Ravi Shankar. She also acted on film in 2003. She played a Bharat Nayam dancer on Dance Like a Man. The career of Anoushka Shankar is in the process of developing and she is expected to achieve great success in the future. Anoushka was a frequent traveler and spent lots of her time in London and Delhi in her early years. After that, she moved to California for high school. In Delhi at his 75thbirthday celebration she made her debut performing the sitar before the crowd of at the age of four, following her nine year old father. The father of Anoushka travelled across the world with her and she gained many experience. When she was still at her teens, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD music festival. The House of Commons Shield was presented an award from the British Parliament for being the pre-eminent Asian Arts musician. She is the only woman and the youngest winner of the distinction.
